Stonewall’s Legacy Poetry Anthology Launch
Saturday, July 27th 3–5:30 PM
Brooklyn Community Pride Center
1360 Fulton Street, Ground Floor
Brooklyn, NY 11216
As World Pride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising were a huge success, Local Gems Press is poised to release Stonewall’s Legacy, an anthology including 80 poets who give voice to the watershed impact of Stonewall’s lasting significance, not only for LGBTQ equality but on American culture, ideology, sexuality, and politics.
The work of 80 poets has been curated, compiled, and edited by Marc Rosen and Rusty Rose. Among the diverse contributors are Ellen Bass, Pam Crow, Lisa Dordal, Scott Hightower, Walter Holland, Timothy Liu, Chip Livingston, Sassafras Lowrey, Seth Walker, Julene Trip Weaver, and Rick Allen Wilson. Love, loss, longing, isolation, community, pride, political action, and AIDS are some of the topics taken up by the selected poets.
Contributing poets from the New York area will be reading from Stonewall’s Legacy, a rare opportunity to see some of NY’s finest LGBT+ poets in action live, including an unabridged performance of Stonewall Pioneer Rusty Rose’s “Put The T First”!
No registration required, no entry fee.
Copies of Stonewall’s Legacy will be available for $20 each.
