Generation Rebel Talks: Rallying Behind A Cause: Wrapping the World in Love
Due to COVID-19 this is an online virtual event. See below to join.
Friday, October 9th from 3 to 4 PM
Amidst a perfect storm of COVID-19 & state sanctioned violence, perhaps to be Black and Brown and queer in America in 2020 is to be in a constant state of mourning. But what if we challenged that notion? What if we had the audacity to also reach for love & joy?
In collaboration with GRIOT Circle and Cumbe Dance, Brooklyn Community Pride Center invites you to join us for the second round of Generation Rebel Talks, a three part series of intergenerational conversations celebrating love as the ultimate revolutionary act. Together, let’s nourish ourselves, nourish our community and organize ourselves to build the world we want to live in.
We know the fight for LGBTQ+ lives has always been Black and Brown. The fight against state sanctioned violence has always been Black & Brown. History is on our side. How do we walk this path and keep our hearts open? Audaciously strive for a world full of love and joy? Let’s do some radical visioning around what our perfect world looks like and then let’s strategize about how we can achieve this dream. For how can we change the world, if we can’t even imagine what a new and better world looks like?
Join this session via Zoom (Meeting ID: 861 0929 2250).
