We cannot tell the story of America without Pauli Murray, a Black, Queer, legal and civil rights pioneer! This interactive, multimedia training for NYCPS high school US history teachers will provide a deep dive into History UnErased’s new elective course, "Pauli Murray's America.”

FREE and Open to All NYC DOE US history, civics, government, and social studies classroom teachers! CTLE credits provided. Maximum 40 participants.


This interactive, multimedia training will provide a deep dive into History UnErased's new elective course, "Pauli Murray's America," as a DOE-approved Civic Readiness Course. The semester-long course includes 14 Units and is anchored in the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray, a Black, Queer, legal and civil rights pioneer who broke through barriers and changed the course of history. The elective course is a rich, primary source-based (with some never-seen-before materials), interdisciplinary, and multimedia exploration of Murray’s early life, their efforts to secure equal rights and access to education, their civil rights work, and their activism through authorship.
