About the event

On the anniversary of the tragic killing of O'Shae Sibley right here in our beloved borough, Brooklyn Community Pride Center is honored to join with some excellent ball royalty to remember Sibley though a one-of-a-kind vogue competition.

Hosted by Jukeboxx with sound by DJ BelindZz. Judged by a panel of legendary house leaders from across NYC.

We'll be giving $500 cash prizes out in five vogue categories (advance registration required):

  • Fem Queen Performance - Fem Queens have always been the pillar of the ballroom community. Seen as mother figures who are nurturing, guiding, organizing, advocating for liberation for all communities. Marsha threw the first brick and started the stone wall revolution, which we will celebrate this night in a pink Bratz inspired effect honoring the name of a FQ who came before you.
  • Women Performance - Women have helped mold the culture of ballroom, creating safe spaces for black and brown youth to be themselves -- such as the Kiki scene by Aisha Dori, one of the founders -- where the Kiki scene has thrived and made an impact worldwide. In a green & purple effect bring it like your mother would.
  • Butch Queen Vogue Fem - Men who are effeminate have always felt isolated, bullied and abused for expression of femininity. In ballroom we celebrate all expressions but tonight we just wanna see you be konttttt. Pay homage to the Divine Feminine in your choice of tube tops, fur bra, daisy dukes, fishnets, or skirts and show us why you are P U double S Y.
  • Realness with a Twist - You know that you are the boy on the block that gets busy and fights for your fem queens, non binary and gnc folks when the church, community and trade wanna try it. In a basketball shorts and a crop top come bend that wrist with O'shae Sibley on your crop top.
  • Drag performance - You are the baddest chick, your style is unique & feminine. Your presence causes conversation, your aura is unmatched and you have been selected to come battle the girls as the queen of the pack. Bring it in a Winx club inspired effect.

Click here to sign up to compete. Sign up deadline: July 15, 5pm.
