About the event
Please join us for the screening of Elijah, a short film by local filmmaker Razid Season. The film gives audiences a glimpse into the ilife of a teenage trans person as they bravely come out to their parents. Set within an immigrant South Asian family, the film also explores the challenges of a community struggling with acceptance alongside its need to merely survive in a new, very different culture.
After the screening, the filmmaker will host a Q&A and discussion. We hope to have a very interactive session in which atendees can share their own experiences and insights.
The event is intended for all audiences, but is of particular interest to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, immigrants, Muslims, and their families and friends. Those who would like to participate in the future national journey of the film, or who have any questions, can contact the filmmaker at director_season@hotmail.com, or call (858) 257-8115.
