COMMUNITY PARTNERS:

Stonewall Community Development Corporation

Stonewall Community Development Corporation (SCDC) will gather data, create strategies and work with community leaders and organizations, real estate developers, city agencies and service providers to create senior housing that serves LGBTQ elders.
From the time we formed as an organization three years ago, SCDC has been committed to an evidence-based approach to solving this seemingly intractable challenge of creating affordable housing and related services that meet the unique needs of New York City’s LGBTQ older adult population.
We have just published Housing for LGBTQ Older Adults in New York City. This report contains the results of our citywide survey on LGBTQ senior housing and related health mental health needs. The results are very illuminating. Please visit our website to view/download the report and its companion document Takeaways, in which we interpret the data and discuss what it means for our future work.
