Pride Path

ARE YOU A BUSINESS interested in working with our youth?

.
ARE YOU LGBTQ+, between the ages of 18-24 and struggle to find work that respects and supports your different identities?
DO YOU LACK ACCESS to the tools, services and community support that would position you for professional success?

This spring, the Brooklyn Community Pride Center will connect local queer young adults to open, inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly businesses. We want to create access to opportunities that will propel you into the careers you desire.
We offer career training opportunities for young adults such as job readiness, leadership development, financial empowerment, and resources for continued education. Hand-in-hand with our training program, we also offer social support to help navigate the constructs of gender, race and class in the workplace. This includes workshops from anti-discrimination to meditation; trans cultural competency to open mic nights. Not only will you receive professional development, but you will also learn your legal rights and tools of self-care.

The Process
Step 1: Complete the Application and Self-Assessment below and submit it online.
Step 2: You will receive an email notification about the next steps in the application process.
Step 3: If admitted, you will receive an email about an orientation date.
Step 4: If not admitted into the first cohort of trainees, don’t worry! There will be opportunities to apply again in the future.

Advocating for Equitable Employment in the LGBTQ+ Community
In addition to training, internships, and jobs, you will have the opportunity to participate in a study in partnership with the New York Institute of Technology Department of Occupational Therapy as a service to the field. As you might know, there is a lack of information about LGBTQ+ workforce readiness and the need for services to support equitable employment.
The study will provide important information that will improve the program and uplift the community through research. Participation in the study is completely voluntary and all information will remain confidential. More information will be provided at in-take.
